Designing and choreographing a musical freestyle, whether traditional english or western dressage, can be a very time consuming and frustrating experience; investing hours of listening to and buying music, purchasing a program, and learning the computer technology necessary. Finally, it can take years to learn how to design and edit the music in a way that is creative while complying with the USEF rules and USDF/FEI requirements.
With over two decades of experience, I produce professional freestyles. I can select music that suits your horse, or use your selection's, and match the music's tempo to your horse's gaits. I can design your custom freestyle at the level of your performance as well as create interesting and judge pleasing choreography. When I say "design," I mean I take musical phrases and place them where you will be riding your required movements. Freestyles are not just playing music while the rider does the required movements. The original music will be rearranged so that in matches the movements you will be performing in the 20 x 60 dressage arena.
As a rider on my deceased Grand Prix dressage horse's, Tierra's Luna and Larisa, as well as my current western dressage mare, I'll Be a Scarlet Moon, I have designed, choreographed, and ridden championship freestyles at every level myself. I also have over two decades of experience designing professional freestyles for all levels of riders.
I have many years of instrumental music experience. I have played and performed on the flute, piano, guitar, violin, bells, and trumpet.
But my real training for freestyles, though, has been gained in the competition arena, in front of audiences and judges. I feel this is what sets me apart from other designers. I understand what riders have to deal with while in the competition arena, because I have been there.

My service is available for the first time freestyle rider to the expert who does not have the time and/or technology available to design a freestyle. From Pony Club at Training Level to Grand Prix riders trying to make a Team. I also am passionate about Western Dressage freestyles.

I was the 1995 USDF Second Level National Freestyle Champion on Tierra's Luna with a median score of 74%. This was the highest national median for all levels that year.
In 2005, I was USDF Fourth Level National Reserve Champion on Larisa with a 73%.
I was USDF National Amateur Champion four times. These include the 1996 Fourth Level, 1999 Intermediate I, 2000 and 2002 Intermediate II, and 2005 Fourth Level Reserve Champion.
I have won numerous CDS, DASC, and USDF Regional and National and All Breeds titles in regular and freestyle classes. I've also won 7 WDAA World titles, 3 WDAA Grand World Championships, as well as numerous CAWDA Year end Championships in regular and freestyle divisions.
I have been on the USET Developing Rider List for many years after competing for a spot on the Pan American Games Team.
I was a USEF Dressage Technical Delegate for 2 decades. This role has given me further insight as I can converse with judge's on trends in the competition arena.
I am a musician. I have played the flute, piano, guitar, violin, and several other instruments.
I hold at Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies and a California Teaching Credential. I was an Elementary School teacher in the Public School system for 16 years. I taught the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grades during this time. Because of my extensive teaching experience, I am able to express ideas to riders in an easy and understanding way during freestyle sessions.
I am happily married to my best friend Terry for 36 years.
